San Bernardino County School District Letters
32 letters have been sent to each superintendent in San Bernardino County, discussing the safety and rights of LGBTQ students. We strongly urge district leaders to support LGBTQ students and oppose any policies that might harm them.
Districts have been discussing school policies that single out and exclude students based on their genders or sexual orientation violate students’ rights and cause serious harm.
All students deserve a secure and caring learning environment where they can freely express themselves and pursue their dreams. Sadly, LGBTQ students in California are facing challenges in finding such safe spaces.
Rather than entertaining or considering harmful policies, schools must urgently prioritize fostering an environment rooted in trust, respect, and profound compassion.

In partnership with our fiscal sponsor Inland Congregations United for Change and other local community partners, we have worked to open a center that creates a welcoming environment for all members of the community. As LGBTQ folks, we know the importance of having access to physical places where our identities are respected and where we are surrounded by others who understand the need to feel a sense of belonging.
